2019 grant recipients

2019 Mary Rutan Foundation grant requests top out at nearly $195,000

Twenty-six requests were received for the 2019 grant cycle. Half of which are new groups or organizations. Asks ranged from $800 to $40,560.

The Foundation has allocated $50,000 towards grants targeted towards nutrition, physical activity and mental health. Below are those well-deserving initiatives who were selected:

Bellefontaine Parks & Recreation - $8,000, Myeerah Nature Play Area

Bellefontaine Middle School - $4,852, Come Aboard the SS BMS

Bellefontaine Intermediate School - $550, Healthy & Fun Recess

Bellefontaine First UMC /Unity in Community - $750, Healthy, Holistic Healing

Benjamin Logan Schools - $9,000, Growing Gardens, Growing Minds

Bridges Community Action - $5,000, Getting Ahead in Logan County

Discovery Riders - $5,000, Equine Assisted Activities

Mac-A-Cheek Learning Center - $4,200, Improving Student Wellness

Village of Ridgeway - $2,500, Village Park Improvements

Village of West Liberty - $5,000, Spray N Play Splash Pad

YMCA Camp Willson - $5,000, Camp for All

In addition, the Foundation supported the Logan County Farmers' Markets and Power of Produce (POP) program in the amount of $6,920. Since 2014, this brings the total support to area Farmers' Markets to $44,604.
