Community Wellness Grant Program

Mary Rutan Hospital is committed to the health and wellness of Logan County residents. To foster community participation in the promotion of a healthier Logan County, Mary Rutan Foundation has established a grant program focused on areas of risk and concern identified in the communities Health Risk and Needs Assessment.

In the most recent 2020 assessment, mental health was identified as the highest priority of risk and need. Over the past five years, the number of adults attempting suicide has nearly doubled, from 129 to 243. In addition, thirty-one Logan County students attempted suicide in 2019. We also know, 20% of students in Logan County screened positive in the school-wide Signs of Suicide Exam for being at-risk.

Resources and programs focused on mental health prevention and crisis support along with the reduction of premature death are needed for all. Equal access to mental health care is an important step toward achieving health equity for all individuals in Logan County.

Promoting and supporting healthy lifestyles and community collaboration is important to Mary Rutan Hospital and Mary Rutan Foundation.
